How to skip duplicates across multiple conversions in Aid4Mail 4 (Incremental Processing)

If you want to skip duplicates across multiple files or exclude emails that have already been processed for archiving purposes, then you need to use the "Log for Incremental Processing" option in combination with the “Do not add duplicate message” setting.

The "Log for Incremental Processing" option is found under “Software > Advanced Options”. This option creates a log file that keeps track of which emails have been processed.

The "Do not add duplicate messages" setting is found on the Export Options screen. Please note if this setting is left unchecked, Aid4Mail will not exclude duplicate or already processed emails.

When you first create a "Log for Incremental Processing", all the emails present in an account will be recorded. This log file is saved on your local machine. If you are selecting pre-existing log file, Aid4Mail will skip any email that is already referenced in it. This feature is useful if you want to avoid exporting the same email more than once or after you restart Aid4Mail.

Instructions on how to use Incremental Processing:

Step 1:

If processing an email account for the first time: Open Aid4Mail, click the Software button and then select Advanced Options > Log for Incremental Processing and save the log file to you PC. We recommend you give the file a name associated with the email account to be processed.

If processing an email account for a 2nd or subsequent time: Open Aid4Mail, click the Software button and then select Advanced Options > Log for Incremental Processing and then choose the log file you previously created for this email account.

Step 2:

Choose your Mail Source and then set any filters you require on the "Filter Options" screen.

Step 3:

Select your Target Format, and on the Export Options window, make sure you have checked "Do not add duplicate messages".

You can tell that an Incremental Log is being used as it is shown on the "Start Processing Mail" screen (shown here):
