As of October 1st, 2022, Microsoft no longer offers basic authentication for IMAP (normal username and password). When connecting via IMAP, users will now need to use OAuth2 security connection or use an app password with normal SSL\TLS security connection.
UPDATE October 11th, 2022: We have released an update that provides further support for Microsoft Office 365 accounts. Users will still either need to connect via IMAP using OAuth2 or by creating an app password with normal SSL\TLS security connection.
We at Fookes Software are working hard to get some changes implemented in Aid4Mail 5 to accommodate these updates. Currently you should be able to connect to Outlook.com and Hotmail.com accounts using the OAuth 2 security connection via IMAP.
As Aid4Mail 5 also supports connecting to Microsoft accounts via the Graph API, you can also use this as the source format to connect with Microsoft accounts.
