Why do I get an “Error creating PST file” message?

If you are using Outlook 2010 or 2013, check whether you have the 32 or 64-bit version installed. The standard download of Aid4Mail only supports the 32-bit version installed by using a method other than Click-to-Run.

However, we do have a version of Aid4Mail which is compatible with Outlook 64-bit. You can download it here.

If your version of Microsoft Outlook is older than Outlook 2003, this issue may occur because your copy of Outlook is not the default email client. In that case, see if temporarily setting it as the default client fixes the issue and restart Aid4Mail. The instructions on how to change the default email client are below:

In Windows 10, search for "default programs" in the search bar next to the Start Button and select the "Default Programs" desktop application.

Then click on the application under "Email" and select Outlook.

In Windows 7, follow the steps on this video tutorial to set your default email client:

If the above do not apply or the solution(s) do not work, see if rebooting your computer fixes the issue.

If you experience any issues, please don't hesitate to contact us by raising a ticket.
